As Managing Director of Gemini I am accountable, for the moral and legal duties pertaining to the protection of the Environment. In execution, I will ensure that Gemini is committed to achieving and demonstrating sound Environmental performance by meeting all regulatory and legislative requirements within a structured Environmental management system. This commitment is to the protection of the natural Environment, by avoiding harm or nuisance, whilst maintaining our operational effectiveness.

At Gemini, we will conduct our activities in accordance with HM Government's overall Environmental Policy, ensuring that the principles of "Sustainable Development" are followed. This will be achieved through the adoption of the Gemini, Environmental Management System (EMS) and good management practices.

Through the execution of this policy, management has a commitment to continuous improvement in Environmental performance, to actively support this objective, Gemini will:

1. Ensure that the consumption of resources including materials, energy and water is as efficient as is possible using best Environmental practices.
2. Avoid polluting releases to the Environment, control emissions to air, releases of solids and liquids in line with statutory legislation by the use of preventative measures.
3. Ensure the awareness of all employees in Environmental matters, provide appropriate training where necessary and encourage the recycling of materials where possible.
4. Ensure that all employees and contractors employed on site comply with the Gemini Environmental Policy.
5. Maintain appropriate records and conduct on-site audits of the Environmental performance, and expect our suppliers to do the same.
6. Ensure that Environmental considerations are taken into account in the design of its products.
7. Ensure that the transportation and disposal of all materials and waste will be carried out in a responsible manner with due regard to Environmental law and moral considerations.
8. Be committed to being a good neighbour and, when requested, make a copy of this Policy available to customers and visitors.

The Environmental Policy will be continuously monitored and will be revised when required to meet changing legislation. The Managing Director's Environmental responsibilities are exercised through Principal Line Managers, who are responsible for the organisation and implementation of the Environmental Policy and Procedures as they evolve, within their work areas.

As Managing Director I will be responsible for the operation of the policy in the company. However, all employees, contractors and service providers have a shared responsibility for the success of this policy, and therefore will benefit our business and society as a whole.
